Breakfast

Breakfast is the first meal of the day. Breakfast means breaking the fast after one has not eaten since the night before. After 8 long hours of sleep, one should have a healthy meal, so as to start a energy filled day.

Too tired to do something, this recipe comes to your rescue. It need little effort and hardly any time!

    Khaman Dhokla

It is a Traditional Gujrati recipe...

And one of those recipes that cud bring back bygone memories which you didn’t think had place in your brain shelves. It's been many years now, I think I was 13 - 14 yrs old and during our stay in Kanpur, there used to be a sweet shop that used to sell Dhoklas with lots of mustards seeds and green chillies over them, served well with Green chutney.
Me and my brother used to peep from our window, when very fresh, fluffiest, softest, spongiest things are made and ready to be displayed on the shop. With its tempting and flavoured smell, I so used to go totally ga-ga over them.
We used to shout n scream.. " mama papa... Dhokla is Ready... "
And they used to send someone there to purchase a portion and we would relish and have them.

Chicken Kathi Rolls is my favourite all time meal.

    Pindi Chole

Team them with hot bhature, kulche or rice!!
You are definetely going to enjoy them...

    Potato Wedges

I Simply love Potato Wedges. They are so tempting that its hard to leave them in the plate without finishing.
Just try and this may happen to you too...

    Potato and Oat Balls

Whenever I start reading a book, I don't know why I wanted something to munch?
And munching means something very delicious....
Today I planned to enjoy my reading with hot potato and oat balls with spicy green chutney!! :)

Paneer Ka Parantha...wow, Sundays and Paranthas!!

    Pooris

Pooris, fried but still its hard to resist.
Pooris can be enjoyed with Aloo ki Sabzi i.e., Potato vegetable or Chole. Or they can be even relished with Aam ka Achaar.
This can be given to kids in tiffin or can be taken on long distance journeys too as they tastes good even after long hours.

    Aloo ki Sabzi

Aloo ki Sabzi is much loved and very easy to make. There would be a very few people who don't like potatoes.
This preparation is mostly relished with Pooris, and the aroma of garlic is what I like.
When we were young, this used to be our breakfast special on holidays.
When mom used to ask me and my brother "aaj kya khana hai breakfast mein ?" We used to shout together "Aloo Poori "
And as the history repeats itself, when I ask my son the same question "aaj kya khana hai breakfast mein ?" , he replies with the same answer "Aloo Poori "  :-)

    Besan Ka Cheeila

Besan Ka Cheela is one of the favourite sunday breakfast among many Indian families.
They can be relished with ketchups or variety of chutneys.
My son calls it 'Yellow Pancake'. And this is one of the few tiffin food he finishes in school.
