Once I have heard someone telling that cooking is nothing but just the right combination of salt and spices.
But I really disagree!
If it would have been true then why the same dal serve in you platter daily, tastes different everyday?
Why you always miss your mom and say, "Ma ke haath wali baat nahin hai...!"?
Have you ever noticed when you are in a good mood and enjoying while cooking, you tend to make a tastier food rather than when you are in a bad mood...??

I am my mom's daughter a typical mumma's child..:) as everyone says, so my love for cooking and serving food properly are in my genes, transfered to me by my mom!! I started cooking food because of my mother and my brother.
As my mom cooks very well and my brother is fond of eating varieties. And now my son, whenever he goes to visit them in vacations, he enjoys his Mamu's company coz he makes him enjoy in all the way.... movies, parties, malls and top of them.. good  food at various joints.
Once my son comes back to home, he insisits 'Ma, I want to have this and that... which I had there...'. and all this makes me to cook and serve him whatever he wants....

And Dates and walnut cake is my favourite cake. I am sharing this recipe with you so that you can relish it with your loved ones today.

Khaman Dhokla

It is a Traditional Gujrati recipe...

And one of those recipes that cud bring back bygone memories which you didn’t think had place in your brain shelves. It's been many years now, I think I was 13 - 14 yrs old and during our stay in Kanpur, there used to be a sweet shop that used to sell Dhoklas with lots of mustards seeds and green chillies over them, served well with Green chutney.
Me and my brother used to peep from our window, when very fresh, fluffiest, softest, spongiest things are made and ready to be displayed on the shop. With its tempting and flavoured smell, I so used to go totally ga-ga over them.
We used to shout n scream.. " mama papa... Dhokla is Ready... "
And they used to send someone there to purchase a portion and we would relish and have them.

Vegetable Corn Soup

Soup is always said to satisfy hungry kids in the evening, once they reach home tired after playing.
It can be served with salad, soup sticks or even with a buttered slice of some flavoured bread.
It makes a filling and nutritious evening meal.
Corn and noodles make this soup special and loved among the kids.

Thick Vegetable Soup

This is an easy to make soup especially for your loving kid.
With these kind of soups you can experiment with different vegetables.
It is always a good idea to encourage your child to help you in kitchen. but in the kitchen they should always be well supervised by you.
While chopping veges, you can tell him that the smaller the vegetables are, the faster they will cook.
This way, they could enjoy while cooking with you.
