Ingredients Moong dal, 1/2 cup
Masoor dal, 1/2 cup
Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
Green chillies, 2-3, chopped
Salt to taste
For Tadka: Cumin seeds, 1 tsp
Red chilli powder ( Karshiri lal preferably), 1/4 tsp
Ghee, 1 tbsps
Hing, a pinch
Garlic, 3-4 cloves chopped
Ginger paste, 1/4 tsp
For garnishing Coriander leaves, 1 tbsp , finely chopped
Method
Pressure cook the dal with aprrox 2 - 2 1/2 cups of water, turmeric Powder, green chillies and salt for half a whistle. After you open the cooker, let it simmer for 5 minutes till you get the desired texture, stirring in between. (Take care that the dal should not be mushy)
Transfer the dal in serving bowl.
Heat ghee in a non stick pan, add cumin seeds.
After they start spluttering add hing and ginger paste.
Then add the and garlic and fry them for a minute.
Finally add Kashmiri Lal mirch.and then pour this Tadka over the dal.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
And serve hot with rotis, rice or paranthas.
